PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER
Mr. Kazakevich oversees all operations and service delivery to External IT customers.
Jacob has been at the helm since 2002 when he co-founded External IT. During his tenure, Kazakevich has managed the company’s hosting capabilities, data centers, global technical operations and overall service delivery to hundreds of clients and thousands of end users.
Kazakevich is a seasoned executive with a rich background in IT and cloud hosting. Jacob is one of three original architects of OS33, which began as an External IT project and was spun off in 2009.
Prior to co-founding External IT, he was Chief Technology Officer of Offyx Corporation, a New York City-based startup in the application service provider (ASP) market. His work at Offyx provided the impetus for launching External IT in 2002.
Mr. Kazakevich has a bachelor’s degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University and resides in New York City with his wife and three daughters.
MANAGING DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL SERVICES
Sam oversees relationship management for all of the firm’s financial services clients. He is involved in the client acquisition phase, and also manages strategic partnerships that External IT has with vendors and clients.
Prior to this role, Sam oversaw the M&A efforts of External IT as the company grew via acquisition. Sam has deep experiences in finance and banking. He spent 10 years at Lehman Brothers in their fixed income credit division, dealing with sales, trading and analysis of illiquid and structured corporate debt. Sam later founded and grew a wealth management practice at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Bank. He started his career in finance in the mortgage-backed securities and high yield groups at Paine Webber.
VP, KEY ACCOUNTS
Mr. Garber focuses on strategic business development.
Mr. Garber joined External IT in 2009, serving as Vice President of Sales. He came to the company with a reputation as being someone who understands technology well, and is particularly good at discussing it in clear and relevant terms.
Prior to joining External IT, Mr. Garber was Senior Vice President of Sales for IT Operations Outsourcing at Data Return (acquired by Terremark in 2007). In his first three years at Data Return he served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, overseeing sales initiatives in North America and Europe. His career in technology includes holding the position of VP for Sales and Business Development at ChromaVision Medical Systems, a manufacturer of medical imaging systems, and was part of the management team who took the company public.
Ken has also worked for Eastman Kodak, as well as Hughes Network Systems, Inc.
Mr. Kelemen manages and oversees External IT’s cloud infrastructure and global network operations.
Gabor is an IT professional with over 15 years of experience both hands-on and managing teams of engineers. His knowledge is broad and spans networking, servers, operating systems, database management platforms, virtualization, security, and more.
Prior to joining External IT, Mr. Kelemen was a Senior Systems Engineer with CGS, a large New York-based software firm serving international apparel clients. His team was responsible for designing and implementing systems used by Urban Outfitters, Marc Jacobs, Haggar, Diane von Furstenberg, and other national names.
Mr. Kelemen holds a MS in Business Administration from Budapest University of Economics.
VP, SOLUTIONS & SECURITY
At External IT, Justin Kapahi works specifically with financial advisors, family offices, asset managers and broker-dealers to engineer solutions that are both scalable and SEC compliant. Justin is also the company’s go-to expert on SEC response and speaks at a wide variety of industry conferences on cybersecurity.
Prior to joining External IT, Justin was CEO of Thirteen Networks, a boutique, IT firm focused on the financial industry. Thirteen Networks was later acquired by External IT. Prior to that, Justin was the CTO of Fairholme Capital Management in Miami, FL where he architected a cutting-edge IT platform for the high-profile firm. Justin has spent more than 15 years working in the IT Security field at Akamai Technologies, Microsoft, and Whale Communications.
Justin is a graduate of the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Justin lives in Miami with his wife and two children.
GAIL DELLA VALLE
VP, ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Ms. Della Valle is responsible for Account Management. She works closely with client organizations to better leverage their technology and maximize the value they receive from External IT’s service organization.
Gail is a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of experience in customer facing service delivery roles for Global Fortune 100 clients. She is accustomed to managing teams of business analysts, and has broad knowledge of the provisioning, lifecycle, maintenance and billing portions of customer care.
Prior to joining External IT, Gail served as Global Service Delivery Manager for a private software company. Prior to that, she worked at Xerox overseeing a global team in Managed Services focused on Provisioning and Telecom Expense Management.
Gail spent her early career at both AT&T and Ingersoll Rand.

David Matalon is CEO & Co-Founder of OS33, where he is responsible for executive leadership and overall operations. David has a proven track record and over 15 years of experience driving growth in B2B technology and SaaS. He continues to play a critical role in the development and evolution of OS33’s flagship product for compliance-driven cloud computing, workplace_.
David co-founded OS33 in 2010 as a spin-out of External IT, a nationwide cloud computing provider he founded, and served as CEO through 2013. As CEO of External IT, Matalon focused the company exclusively on regulated financial services firms and grew its customer base both organically and by acquisition. He facilitated OS33’s spin-out as a SaaS company, providing workplace_ through a global network of managed service providers, and direct to the wealth management sector through wholly-owned External IT.
Prior to External IT, his initial venture into the field was as co-founder of Offyx, one of the first application service providers in the United States. The company was backed by IBM, Cisco, Oppenheimer and several New York venture funds.
David has a BS from the Stern School of Business at New York University and received an MA from Columbia University. He lives in New York with his wife and four children.
